Just now I got the following email

I sincerely apologise for disturbing you again at your quite time, I'm Barrister
Adams Taylor from ADAMS TAYLOR SOLICITORS here in Manchester UK. My late client
has your name on his WILL as a beneficiary to his funds. For more info reply ba
ck via my secured email: adamstaylor01@w.cn

Barr.Adams Taylor Esq.

I mean, really!!! do people actually send these people money??? I got another one asking for $80.00 shipping fee. I get that one every single day from various email addresses. I never open then. I just wanted to show you this one. As soon as I see the word Solicitor in the subject line I immediately delete the whole thing.

I can't believe that anyone would send them money.

Melody...

Report these people to your State's Attorney General. Many AG's have emails listed on the web.... I would forward the email from the person wanting money and at the bottom I would put my name, email, address, and phone number.

I've had to report a few and have not heard from any "spammers" in a long time.

I hope this helps...

Hi Abbie:

I no longer have this particular email. I forwarded it on to the proper people. But the other day I got an email (supposedly from VERIZON), telling me my account needed to be updated, and to please click on the blue hyperlink.

I swear, the email looked legit, the background, the graphics, one would think it actually was from Verizon.

What gave it away.

Where it said "To"

It said; To: Verizon User

Now who sends an legitimate email to someone and says: "To Verizon User"

I knew immediately.

It's gone

Thanks much

Melody

Wow... guess someone is trying to take advantage of the fact that Verizon is or has sold much of their assests to other companies...It maybe be just one company but I'm not sure... around here they sold to Frontier but haven't officially changed any logos and what not.

I'm still trying to find out how they can actually make their email look like it's from Verizon, or Paypal, or Ebay.

I get this all the time.

You think you are getting a legitimate email from Paypal or Ebay, etc, the background, the graphics, I swear it looks legit. But when they ask you to update your information, you know it's phony because Ebay tells you "never reply to an email from Ebay, always sign in to Ebay and look for any messages"

So that's what I do.

That's how I learned about spoofing, phishing and all the other phony emails.

Never heard of the words spoofing, or phishing before.

One learns something every day.

lol

Hi.

I got this one today!!!

Greetings,

This is a personal email directed to you for your consideration alone, I request that it remain and be treated as such only. Please bear with me for now and do not ask my name. I am a banker with HSBC in the United Kingdom. I have an interesting business proposal for you that will be of immense benefit to both of us. Although this may be hard for you to believe, we stand to gain 7.2 million USD between us in a matter of days. Please grant me the benefit of doubt and hear me out. I need you to signify your interest by replying to this email.

Most importantly, I will need you to promise to keep whatever you learn from me between us even if you decide not to go along with me. I will make more details available to you on receipt of a positive response from you. Do contact me only at my private email address: privatepost05@hotmail.com

DO NOT ASK HIS NAME??

Why would anyone contact a person who tells them "do not ask his name"

I guess there still are gullible people out there.

I am reminded of my dear Uncle who was about 85 at the time, who would get these letters in his mail box, and he called me one day all excited because he won the lottery.

I was immediately suspicious because I knew that he never played the lottery and when I confirmed this I said "Uncle, how can you win at something you never participated in"?

And he replied "But the guy in the letter told me I won and if I send him a handling fee, I can get the money".

I immediately, and politely explained the whole thing to him, and he said sadly "you mean, I sent these guys money for nothing?"

That's who they prey on. The elderly and the gullible.

These people should all be shot.

But that's just my opinion.

Melody
