Question problem with vBulletin still...

I posted a bit about this on the other thread I started...there were two parts
to my question then. Mostly the N/A bit from members list.

But I did have trouble accessing my ID information from a friend's computer
a week ago. It kept asking for my user ID and welcoming me, and as soon as
I moved to a forum, the ID was lost.

Well, I have been having problems HERE with PMing. I will type in a PM,
and then when I hit submit, it says I am not logged in and asks for ID again.
When I did that, it said I could not post within 60 sec... so I opened another
window and low and behold that PM did go thru.
Today I tried a PM again, and it asked for my ID again at submit, and
did not send it like before. Is there a time out on PMing? I use Firefox
and have a completely different browser than the one last week. This forum is
not losing my ID however, when I move around the forums, only in PM function. ??? puzzling????

hi mrsd,
welll.. I don't know what to tell you about that.

This might be a question for Kimmydawn or docjohn.
They probably know more about the vbulletin settings and such.

Have you tried it with other browsers - like IE or Netscape 8.1 ?

or you are sure it's a vbulletin problem?

remember all the double posts we got at OBT those last 6 months?
because the server was slow to reply that the post went through?
your PM that did go reminds me of that.

sorry I wasn't a better help- maybe someone will be along soon with better ideas.

Smile thanks Jo...

It is only happening on PMs here...and when they are long.

Shorter ones do not drop my sign in.

The one I tried to use last Friday was AOL, IE.. this one dropped my ID on every page...then when I went to post it dropped me again. It was totally weird. And I gave up

I use Earthlink, and Firefox here. And only have problems so far with
longer PMs (twice now). Shorter ones don't drop me. I was thinking it was a
time out thing...I don't usually send alot of PMs but have been lately. This is a much friendlier board for me, and I am enjoying that.
I had to keep PMs closed at OBT due to trolls.
