Default ? about Internet Explorer 7

Hi, I just stupidly updated my computer to IE 7, then I remembered why I didn't like it the last time. So I got rid of itand went back to IE6. Trouble is I can't remember what I did to just get rid o IE 7 and go back to IE6.

The Reason I don't like IE 7 is that it doesn't let me have my favorite places on the left of my screen (all the time). I like my favorites on the left side of my screen ALL THE TIME, so just click on where I want to go.

Now with IE 7, I have to click on the little yellow star on the left, THEN MY FAVORITES APPEAR. But they don't stay on the left side of my screen.

If someone can tell me how to make my FAVORITES permanently stay on the left side of my screen, I might be tempted to keep this IE 7. But just in case, how do I downgrade back to IE6.

I have Windows XP and an HP Pavillion Media Center

Thanks to any computer techs who know how to do this.

Melody
