Default Sorry.......not Possible

I have just finished a conversation with my provider and it seems impossible to stop this type of SPAM. Blocking by blacking out a subject or sender will only work for that particular sender and if you will notice that sender always changes as does the subject. You will spend more time blacking than just deleting and moving on.
When I suggested a pinging method I was told that 80 percent of email is freemail. There is little incentive to come up with a method that would use some type of ping since that would at least double the amount of emails being sent. Also since this is an international problem it is not likely that everybody would comply with some type of US national mandate.
So there you go. It really sucks, but that's the way it is.
Your best bet, if this is truly a huge problem, would be to get a new email address and be sure that you only give out the new address to people you can trust not to pass it along to somebody that might sell it. But there are is always the potential for a virus or trojan that will infect that person or that company and supply your email address to one of the spam scam outfits.
Sorry for the bad news and good luck.

sorry timeforwalkies but I do disagree on that comment

between mailwasher and my ISP's spam blocking filters, I have vastly reduced the tons of garbage that used to come to my inbox

this applies to my business account BTW which is on my website and so it gets picked up by numerous spam bots etc.....yet each day I only have to bounce very few spam mails from mailwasher. When I go to check the SPAM filter my ISP provides there are still hundreds of them coming in daily....but the combination of my blacklisting and my ISP picking up the SPAM is proving VERY effective in stopping them from reaching me.

Although I dont have mailwasher for my personal addy, yet again the SPAM filter that my ISP provides, along with the blocked sender feature in Outlook Express, seems to keep the SPAM very low.

Default I have a question about editing a website!!!!

I created a website for my friend from my workstation, on my computer. She doesn't have one. She just called me and asked me to change something on the website. I went to the website, right clicked on the page and clicked on source code. I changed her contact phone number, (by the way, it opens up in notepad. I changed what I had to changed, went up to File, clicked on save.

I thought that is how you change a website that you had created on your computer. When I clicked on refresh, the old phone number was still there.

So does anyone know how to change something on website that you created.

I guess I'm off base by right clicking on the page and trying to change it by bringing up the "source code" thing????

I mean there has to be a way to modify a website, right?

thanks,

Melody

I think you would have to log in or change it on your computer and then upload or publish it for the change to show up.

I used bravenet to make mine { http://www.bravenet.com/ }- so I have to log on to the website to make any changes and then save those then re-publish it- before the changes will show up online.

What program did you make the website with?
Microsoft PowerPoint ?

What program did I create the website with?? Are you kidding? I'm 59 years old. You're lucky I remember what I just cooked for dinner!!!!!

lol.

But I spoke to my computer genius son, and after I told him the question, he immediately said to me "mom, you have to change it, then save it and upload it". I said "upload it to where". He said "to the internet".

I said "now how on earth do I upload this, where does it say to upload it"???

He gave up on me.

But I did realize that my friend was sitting beside me when we created this website and she had to put in all kinds of passwords, etc.

So I told her to call the Discovery Toys customer service number and she should ask them how she can do this. Then she'll come over to my home and we'll follow instructions.

jeez, I hate being 59 sometimes. I mean, I look good for 59 but I think like I'm 90 sometimes.

oh to be 17 again.

Melody

I'm thinking maybe you went to the discovery toys website and made her site there??
does this look familiar on this link?

http://www.discoverytoysinc.com/eco.html#

most of this stuff needs a password so it might be where you need to go to change her info.
