I read the info you have here; but I still have some questions.
When I bought my windows 7 computer it had a trail version of office 2010. The trail version ran out & I can't do ANYTHING with my documents that I had. (no editing; no copy & paste nothin. just like if it is frozen). Do I have to buy this?? This is crazy if a person as no choice; either you can't use it at all & lost everything or pay a couple of hundred to resume useing it. I'm on a very low income --- I can't afford it at all! Is there anything I can do--- any help at all will be greatly appreciated. When I bought a computer back in 2000; there was nothing else to buy. Everything you needed was there; except of course the internet. Thanks. Jaycojade

you can go to OpenOffice.org and download their FREE version of office. it does the exact same things as Windows, they just call the different names. you should be able to open any documents you have after downloading the thing.
I hate the microsoft traps folks like that.

Yes, I agree totally, I have used open office for many years.
You can read more about it here & download it too if you want to - http://www.openoffice.org/

You can leave it for now - unless you can't use it at all anymore with out buying it, then I'd go ahead and uninstall it.
And if your hard drive might be getting full then go ahead and remove it, if you change your mind later on , you can always go to MS and download it again. The files you made with MS office should be saved in your My Documents folder- so removing MS office program won't delete any of your personal files.
