Default I have a question about using Flock

I actually posted a question about using the Favorites option but I just figured out how to do this, so all I need is help with my email.

I use Verizon email. When I used Mozilla or IE, and I was in Verizon Central and I wanted to send an email, when I began typing in the email address on the address bar, it would prompt me to select from many email addresses.

For example, if I want to send an email to someone whose email address begins with the letter d, about 5 emails would come up and all I had to do was select the email address I preferred.

Now in Flock, this does not happen. If I want to send an email to someone whose email address begins with the letter d, I better know the exact email address because none of the others come up.

And I thought "well, this is a new browser, I have never sent an email using this browser before, but now that it knows I'm sending an email to this person, the next time, I open up Verizon Central and start typing her email address, it will automatically in front of me so I can select it.

It did not happen.

When I make an email while using Flock, I have to know the exact email address.

Is there any way I can correct this thing. I can't remember everyone's email address so the other way was very convenient. I have 9 people whose email address begin with D, so when I write to my friend Diane, I would just type in D and I would see 9 addresses in front of me, and I would see HER email address and I could select it and it would be in the To: section of the email.

So if anyone of you who use Flock as their browser and they also use Verizon, can you tell me if this happens to you?

Thanks much

Melody

I don't keep an address book. I look up the last email from that person, go to it and copy/paste the email into "new".

This way if a virus comes it cannot spread to others.

Browser history is different than email address book.
I don't think you can add to it the same way.

So because I'm using Flock instead of IE or Mozilla, then there is no way that I can make the email addresses come up (like they do in IE and Mozilla?)

I wonder why this is so.

I mean, it's still Verizon, whether I'm using IE, Mozilla or Flock.

You think it's because I'm using Flock and that's the reason that I have to type in everyone's email address (or copy and paste).

You mean, from now on, when I want to send an email, I will not be seeing all the email addresses pop up (for example, if I want to send an email to a person whose email begins with dg, and I start typing dg and in the other browswers, about 9 email addresses will pop right up and all I have to do is clock on the one I want to use.

This will not happen EVER in Flock? did I get this right?

Thanks much,

Melody
P.S. Can't thank you enough for this Flock info. I am thoroughly enjoying this browser and creating my own favorites and not having to share Alan's thousands of favorites and toolbars, etc.

This belongs to MELODY

I absolutely love this browser

I can't test it out right now, but it might be a cookie thing - I don't like the way they changed this new version of Flock...

I'm going to see if I can download the older version - it was nearly the same as FF.

But your Verizon email is on a website- so no matter how you get to it it should act the same - but then again some websites don't "play" well with anything other than IE. So maybe Flock just has issues with that part of the email address area.

There's also Opera that is a free browser - but it has too many settings..I tried it for awhile - but just too many things to fiddle with - or I just fiddled with it too much LOL

LOL we were typing at the same time...

maybe after you acquire more cookies from Verizon - more use - then I will do what you are used to...
you might be able to add the Verizon site to the saved cookies section and that might help too. maybe it is clearing all cookies when you close flock?

Maybe - I'm not sure..
could be just a weird difference between the browsers.

here is the older version of flock that looks & acts more like FF -
http://download.cnet.com/Flock/3000-...-10803251.html

- if you install it& after you open it, click the Help section in the toolbar -to check for any updates .

I'm not doing a thing!!! I love the Flock I have now, and the email thing is just an inconvenience. I have all my favorites right where I want and Alan is NOT getting his hands on this browser.

It's all mine, mine mine mine.

lol

Love it.
What a big difference from last week. Every time we used Mozilla, it would freeze. But now that Alan took all his tookbars off and whatever else he did, well he is flying too.

I would use Mozilla too but Alan has too many favorites and it's too complicated for me (to get into folders, to organize, etc.)

This way, I just open up Flock and I fly!!!!

lol
