Default Error with Automatic Updates

Okay, I am now thoroughly confused.

On the bottom right of my screen there is thing that looks like an emblem that when I click on it, Windows Security Center comes up and it indicates my automatic settings are OFF. When I try to turn it on, it tells me 'We cannot turn on Windows Updates for you, you have to do it manually so go to control panel, click on System, and do it manually.

So I go to Control Panel, find the System thing, click on Automatic Updates, and right in front of me, it shows that I have automatic updates and it is set to automatically download and install them. And I click on OK.

I then go to my security center and it's still OFF.

So what the heck do I do?

Thanks much

Melody

What if you try one of the other settings ?
like download the updates but let you decide when to install them?

Id' try the other options and reboot too, see if that might make a difference.
If none of those help - then it could be some left overs from that virus you had..stopping the updates...

If no change then more extra deep scans...I guess...

lol, Thanks much

I do like having Flock as MY browser. I have 7 or so favorites and they are all at the top and all I have to do is click on their name.

No sidebar, but a cool browser
