The Apple Ipad has been phenominal, but not without issues. I am glad I waited and didnt get the first one, because about six months later they started talking about the 2nd generation, which meant buying a whole new machine. 2nd generation has some nice upgrades, but what happens when they up it again?
I hear the HP is multi generational, so you can actually update the machine thru firmware updates, and dont have to trade in your tablet. Also it syncs up with your HP computer to share contacts, calendars, and printers...im seriously thinking about snagging this one. I see the galaxy tablet and the blackberry tablet, but since everything I currently do is HP and it would sync, I wouldnt have to carry double sets of info, I just update one set of info and it carries over to both machines. im seriously thinking about this one. anyone know anything? it was just released like yesterday.

in the end I got a 10inch laptop from Acer. it serves my purpose well, and I got a great price. I dont have to worry if I drop it, and it will do all that my big tower will do, but allow me to stay in touch while away from home.

may I ask where you got it, Dejibo?
We need to consider getting a portable computer on a low budget and so I am looking for good deals! Our last experience with HP was not good (son's laptop for college) so I am very wary of HP products...not the same great company they used to be, sadly! IMHO

sorry to be late.
I got an Acer Aspire ONE. its a small portable laptop. ONE gig of RAM (which can be upgraded to 2) and it has windows starter which is missing many nice things win7 has. I paid $248 for it, even tho its a $349 computer because I shop well. If you are going to pay $300 for a machine, do yourself a favor and get a NOTEbook, not a NETbook. This is perfect to fling in my suitcase and on the go we are. I dont count on it for anything other than check my email, skype, check on the cats while we are gone...I dont have any real programs on it, and dont plan to put any on it. I can also unload my camera and email from on the road. A notebook will come with more RAM, and the FULL operating system. It can be really upgraded, and they come in 14 to 17 inch screens with tons of toys. There will be some great back to school sales. I knew I wanted about a ten inch screen. just needed a kick about throw it in a suitcase kinda deal, and something that I am not panicked about if I drop it, break it, or it gets stolen. The tablets dont have an operating system, but depend on applications from developers. I wanted an operating system, even if it was linux or mac. So, shop those back to school sales, there are going to be some nice 1-3 or 1-5 computers for about the same price as that netbook I just got.
