Compare the speed numbers, Ram, Hard drive size, and personally I like to try hands on how any laptop or keyboard/mouse feels to my hands & fingers..
and compare warranty etc.

I've always had AMD cpu's in my desktop , my dd has Intel, just happened that way when we bought the parts to build them, whatever brand name motherboard/cpu that was on sale at the time.

They are both good brands, so just depending on all the other things to compare...
I hope this helps a little bit.

If you recall the exact models you can look up reviews of them or compare prices on amazon or such.
