Question Transfer 8mm video tapes to dvd

Has anyone had any experience with this. What is the best and cheapest equipment that I would need. I have the 8mm camera and I want to put in on my computer to edit. Then burn to a dvd. My main issue is getting the video on the computer.
Any ideas???? I've googled until I'm blue in the face!!!!

I have tried EasyCap DC60 and can't get it to work.
