Default Need headphone question answered

First of all, here is what happened.

Up until this afternoon, my monitor worked fine, my headphones were plugged into my MONITOR and we have new stereo headphones (Skull Candy) and everything worked just fine. Sound came out of both headphones.

The monitor died and went to heaven.

I took another monitor from the other room and this one had no headphone jack. So I took my headphones, plugged them into the TOWER (My HP Pavillion) and Alan said "Oh, they work fine".

I then went to see if the computer guy was open to see if he could tell me why my monitor died.

He was closed, I came home, went on the computer and discovered that only the left headphone worked. No sound coming out of the right one. It's not the headphones, they worked fine with the other monitor (but then again the headphones were plugged directly into the monitor.)

Now I have this other monitor and no place to plug in headphones so they are plugged into the computer itself.

So what happened?
And what can I do about it?

Thanks much

Melody
P.S. I asked Allen Thomas on FB but that question was about enlarging the text on the screen (now that I'm using a different monitor)

Hey, I'll take any help I can get

lol

Melody

Maybe double check the audio/sound settings in control panel??
Maybe something was different when it went thru the monitor plug.

Did you get the larger fonts figured out?
couple of ways to do it.

Control panel /Display/ appearance /font size
or
Control panel /Display/settings/advanced - DPI setting - I usually slide the slider to 104 or so.

Hello.

Allan Thomas helped me with enlarging the text on the screen. and for whatever reason, I fixed the sound, AND DON'T ASK ME HOW I DID IT, because I don't know. But I now have sound coming out of both headphones so that's cool.

AND THANKS MUCH

AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!
