Default Color won't fill in Word Art graphic

I know this is a strange request but since 3 of the computers I've been on lately at school have been messed up I'm starting to get frusrated. If all it would take is something simple I could do to make it work I would because everything else on that computer with the color fill problem seems to work. The Format box with all the options showed color but we couldn't get it to show up in the Word Art in Word. The other one computer kept freezing when I'd try to save anything to floppy and the 2nd other one is too messed up to even go into. It is Word 2000 if that makes a difference.

Thanks,
befuddled2
