It is rumored that I can pair my iphone with my Dragon naturally speaking 11.5 and use it as my mic instead of the headset.

legally blind is a hard way to set up anything new. I have added a new source of dictation. I have paired the proper IP address to my new profile. I read for the full 5 minutes and then when dragon searched for my iphone file, it couldnt find it.

Im frustrated and going to bed. perhaps someone here knows a better way to get this to work. I have Windows 7 and Iphone 4s and I have downloaded the Dragon recorder as requested by the program. Both are on the same Wifi network, and I even plugged the iphone in by USB just to be sure, but at this point...im lost, mad and going to ignore it a while.

My mom has very low vision also...

she just got a color low vision magnifier - CCTV
for paperwork , ads, magazines, recipes & photos
She doesn't really use the computer enough to set up something like Dragon, she can still write cards, checks & letters with the use of the CCTV.


I found a video with description for steps to take for setting iPhone up with dragon, it seems that you did all the steps, unless I missed something.

Does your wifi have a security key or code? WEP or WPA?
might need to add that somewhere so they can connect???

but if the pc can 'see" the phone & the phone can "see" the wifi & pc??
- it must be something in Dragon that needs to be changed for dragon to use the recording/dictation.

I have it working! yeah! let me tell you, it was NOT as easy as it claimed to be on the box. I had to go thru many steps, and it was a royal pain.

Thanks for all the help. I may try to use it later, but it took me the better part of two days with my limited vision to get as far as I got. for now, im too pooped to do anything about it.

I ordered the DVD training sessions that you use on the computer called Work Modules in order to better learn all this thing can do. I would hate to have a wonderful tool and miss out on half what I can get it to do.
