my [IMG] is on but HTML is off

Di do you have [IMG] checked on in your User CP?
might be a default setting - I don't know if I checked them on or if they were already??

mrsD 09-27-2006 12:21 PM

no, I have had this sig since I got back

in early Sept.

I could not TYPE [img] commands into the signature box. It won't accept them.

You upload the pic you want, and it has size restrictions, using the
upload feature at the bottom of the signature screen.

Then you click the insert picture statement and it puts a [SIGPIC]
command in for you in the big box. You can't do that yourself. When I
tried, it failed.

So the ticker you upload has to be small...the 100x500 pixels is not a big
graphic.

You can put your ticker on Photobucket I would assume and link directly
to it in each post (not in the sig) if you want. I don't know however if it
continues in time, while sitting in Photobucket?

Does the tickerfactory allow linking? If so you should be able to link to it,
since there are two choices... I used upload from my computer. I made my "mrsD" at Flamingtext.com and saved it to my computer.

You know I am afraid to touch it now.... it was that trickey to do!:o

mrsD 09-27-2006 01:12 PM

Yay.... you did it!

Your explanation was much better than mine tho! LOL

Trickey eh? I certainly found it very trickey.

Jpeg

Lara,
When you entered it, is it a picture or will the active ticker count the days down? Turning to 21 days tomorrow?
Thanks so much all for lost sleep, brain power and thought provoking computer pounding ideas everyone, lol.

Upload Signature Picture
You may upload a new custom image using the controls below. Either enter the URL to the image you wish to use, or use the upload control to upload an image directly from your own computer.

Enter URL to Image:
Upload Image From Your Computer:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

When you go to the control panel and click for signature, you'll see an area that says the above. I pasted the url at "Enter URL for Image" . I didn't put [img] or [url].

That's all I did. Maybe Doc John should know if it's not working...

I'm going to go and change mine to make sure...

Thanks,

KD

Yep, I saved mine twice by copying and pasting the url.

I had to select save, it shows a preview...then I had to select save again.

I hope it works for you!

Ahh, thank you so much, Lara! That's the part I wasn't picking up in this thread, and I knew it existed...I just didn't pick that part out.

I appreciate so much the explanation and dismiss my first posts. ;)

Good luck!

KD
