Wren, do you have HP 64bit? I don't know what that is either but I think it has to do with lots of memory... Thats what I have and Icehouse said my computer is 'quirky'..it runs like its half dead sometimes and then gets happy and frisky if its cleaned up right. Be sure you do your updates as well, it likes those too.

Mine needs to be reformatted and I have cheesy dial-up so yours should do even better if you make it happy.

Its all a mystery..

Thanks Judi ------ I haven't any idea what you're talking about . How do I know, where do I click to find out about "HP 64bit" ? There are little stickers ......... one says "Windows 7", one says "E2 Vision AMD", and another says "Dual Core and Radeon Graphics".
Running that Glary thing really helped but it's still not "normal".

Judi, here is an analogy for you... imagine you had a highway with 32 lanes... you could therfore send 32 cars (on per lane) down the highway simultaneously (side-by-side). In computer terms, this is the same concepts as a 32bit system, except it is not car but data (a 1 or a 0).

A 64bit system is exactly the same concept, just with 64 lanes on the highway. Also as you were totally correct, the more lanes you have the more memory you can access (memory addresses)... it's gets a bit nerdier on from here!

I can never find anything either...I have a sticker but you can find it by clicking on the start button... in the search thing at the bottom type in "Operating system" and a choice will be 'Show which operating system your computer is running"..that will tell if its 64 or 32 bit. I'm not sure if it matters, I think that HP may not be most user friendly computer for non-nerds, I see people having some of the same issues that I do on the HP sites.

Mine frequently doesn't run perfectly after I clean it either, sometimes it helps to restart it but sometimes that makes it worse too.. Most of the time after it has been run for awhile and logged on and off, etc. a few times it seems to fix itself after it has been cleaned. Someone smarter than I am can tell both of us what it actually does? I think it reorganizes Windows that accumulated errors from all the junk but I made that up and I have no idea if thats what it is actually doing.
'
I've started looking at ''Action Center' too. I'm not very good at using it yet, maybe someone else can explain...please?

Thanks Robin, I assume 64 bit gives more things to get messed up as well...
