We did all the "fixes" for Angry Birds Friends to no avail.

I had my son try it with his different IP provider and Apple computer and he cannot get it going either. So it is either a Rovio problem, or they are converting from Flash, or it is FB.

Right in the middle of this week's tourney. sigh.

But in a way I welcome this, I wouldn't have stopped playing on my own. LOL

Thumbs up

Angry Birds has returned, with a new tournament this week today.

It is odd, they never even responded to people on FB who were asking questions.

So I am happy once again!

Question Can't find Notepad in Win 10

I Googled this... seems I have to download it, now? Sheeesh!

Anybody know?

Well...we found it...
We called our son. It is in the start menu under "Windows accessories"...
I will pin it to the task bar...

It was always in accessories, but they changed the name to Windows accessories... sigh. We checked "A" and "N" and "M" for Microsoft...but I didn't think about going further to "windows"...sigh...

Looks like I'm going to have to pay someone to remove Windows10 from my laptop. I haven't been able to find some important things, like how to download pics off my camera, and now you folks are scaring me with the security/privacy issues. I did not do the custom installation.

My computer does things while it's sleeping.

Win 10 has killed my graphics software a second time now with a large update. We had to reinstall it again.

I keep on getting a nag-screen inviting me to install Windows 10 for free, which I ignore, muttering some four-letter words under my breath.

I think that I will wait until I need a new laptop until I go down that path.

Did it come with 10 installed, or did you upgrade at some point..?
You can read on computer sites how to go in and change the privacy settings to turn off all that junk.. so that's one option..

2. Go to Microsoft /windows 10 website and read tutorials & tips.. how to do the photos etc

3. There are ways to downgrade I believe, I think I saw something about that while googling..

4. Or if you have an older version of Windows & the reg code ( on laptop back? or paperwork that is had with it) - you could have someone help you install it while leaving all files in the win 10 partition.
You would install it on a new partition. so the old win 10 is still there too.
Then you should be able to access those files with the older version of Windows , as long as there is no password on the Win 10 or the profile/account on win10.

At boot up it would show both the win 10 & the new win version and you click the one to start up.

I still say if you are even slightly interested & slightly adventurous the free Linux distros are almost like windows XP now. The installing & learning curve is fairly painless.

point & click install
no virus problems
free open source software
just open the software program and find what you want & install it.. and the top distros have WINE - which allows for many actual windows programs to run on linux..
Nothing like yrs ago when I was not ready to fully drop winXP.. It took XP shutting down for me to fully change..but it was an easy change after all..

My favorite distro is MINT MATE - I'll link some screen shots-
http://linuxmint.com/rel_rosa_mate_whatsnew.php
http://linuxbsdos.com/2015/12/07/lin...e-screenshots/
http://www.linuxmint.com/screenshots.php

ZorinOS is another beginner friendly distro- and a Lite version for slower laptops/computers.
http://zorinos.com/

And all you do to get these is download the version - usually the 32 bit - and then burn it to a dvd
download/ install info- burn the image file (.iso) to a blank DVD (any type) at the slowest possible speed in order to avoid any errors.
http://zorinos.com/installguide.html

AND most of the linux distros come as a LIVE cd , you put the cd in and boot up the system fresh , Linux will run off the cd /dvd so you can test it to see if you like it.. It will be slower than an actual installed version though.. If you don't like it just close it down , take cd out and restart back to windows OS..nothing get changed .
But if you decide you like it there is an install icon right on the main screen to start the install process, and it only take about 20 mins vs hour/s to install .
