Default How do I open up this email attachment?

Hi all.

I need your help once again.

I am in communication with the composer of the opening song for the hit series "Sleeper Cell". I loved the music and wanted it for my ipod.
So some months ago, I tracked down the composer, Mike Greene, and at that time, while there was no actual track, he did have a 30 second version of the opening sequence, so he emailed it me and I just looped it over and over on my ipod, so at least I had 30 seconds of the opening song. It's belly dance music and it's terrific.

Well, he never forgot me, and just now he sent me an email with an attachment. The email said this is a 2 minute version. Of course I thanked him profusely, and proceeded to open up the attachment.

I use Outlook express as my default Email program. Never had a problem opening up attachments.

Well, I clicked on open, it prompted me "do you want to open this up, it's an MP3 file? I cliked on OK. and at first, it said 'bitmap not found.

Then when I tried to open it again, nothing happened.

Okay, all you smart guys, I really want to save this to my itunes folder so I can ipod it. Now it should open when I double click on the attachment.

So what am I doing wrong?

Thanks to you all.

Melody

Are absolutely sure it was from the correct person?
After just having to reformat my hard drive due to a virus I would be very careful.

Yes, it's from him. Absolutely certain.
We had been corresponding. He is an award winning composer.

Look up Mike Green - Sleeper Cell.

He's composed many musical scores.

So why can't I open up this thing. When I first tired it said something to the effect of "music match, can't open" It was so fast, I forgot what it said.

There has to be a way to open up a sound file and put it in my itunes folder.

I mean, that's what I did when he sent me the 30 second clip the first time.

Thanks,
Melody

Here's exactly what my screen says when I try to open it.

"The skin bitmap was not found C:ProgramFiles\Musicmatch\MusicmatchJukebox\Skins\ Cobalt\Plrblns1.bmp

Now I did install music match, hoping it would let this open up into it.

What happened next?

Got same message.

What the heck is this message with the bitmaps???

Thanks, and please I hope someone can help me.

If you wish, I'll send you the e-mail and you can get this song too!!!

It's really good belly dance music.

Melody

I don't know why it would say anything about skins or bitmaps??
Unless he sent it as a video?? instead of just the music file???

music is usually sent in a MP3 or wave format- I'm not up on all the music lingo for puters - so hopefully somebody else will have more info on it.

Did you try opening your Windows Media Player first and use the file / open to see if that works to play it?
You should be able to do the same with the music match player too I think.

also on the file that he sent you can right click on it - go down to properties - and see what kind of file type it is...wave, mp3, video, jpeg what ever it says in that section.

I found his website and on the main page you can listen to the theme.

for me it asked if I wanted my windows music player to play it and then downloaded it and opened the player and played it.

here is his site-

Okay, now I am really confused. As I indicated in my first post, when I tried to click on the attachment in Outlook Express, it said "do you want to open up this file, it's an MP3 file? All the options it gave me were "okay", and "cancel". So I clicked on Okay, and that's when I got the message about the bitmap.

So how can I go to Windows media player and open up an e-mail attachment? I can do that??

I have no idea how to do tht.

If someone can walk me through this, I'd be grateful.

I do have music match. Maybe I'll go there and it will help me open up e-mail attachments?????? I have no clue. Don't I have to open it up, and download it somewhere first? See, that's the problem, it just tells me it's an MP3 File and then it gives me the bitmap musicmatch thing.

I am so confused.

Help!!!!!!

Mel
