Default 'Quick Post' Problem

I cannot QP in the threads. I click on the little icon in the bottom right of the last post to try to type in the box below, but nothing happens. If I want to reply, I have to go to the bottom of the [page and click 'advanced' to post, but when I do the end result is in paragraph form- it will not post to my formatting, but at least I can reply. Any ideas?
