I have 4 court CDs. The court of course assured me they would play on my computer.

They don't.

Both Windows Media and RealPlayer say that a Codec is missing.

I tried downloading something, but it doesn't appear to be the missing thing.

I need to listen to these CDs.

And now I'm locked out of my email program...


Darn it. So to speak.

How can I even find out what is missing? When I clicked on the link that came up to take me to the web to get whatever was missing, there were over 6,000 choices.

Put in one of the CDs.
You can go to My Computer and then access CD drive that way -to see the CD files & properties.

When at the CD file or icon -
right click on it and go down to properties

on that pop up page it should say what type of file or what is needed to play it

let us know what you find.

or also try right click and go to Explore to see what is on the CD
or what type of file or what may be needed to play it.

It may need the Quick time player

Well, after quite a long time I realized that I could ask Google what I needed to play an Ftr CD, and that took me to a site where eventually I downloaded the right thing.

Whew.

But by then I was SOOOOO stressed.

Still, I am now able to listen... and I can hear the opposing lawyer relying on my confusion to lie... and I think I can show that.

Showing it will be the trick.
