Arrow Forum use & Tips- Themes, font formatting , general use FAQ's

Theme/skin/style info

Some of our theme choices are easier to read for some people too so you might try those.

Theme, Skin, Style info: we have 7 styles to try

at the very bottom of the pages
{from main forum home page is the best way to try changes http://neurotalk.org/index.php
-or in User CP}

there is a drop down list in the lower left bottom of the page -
click and try them to see if you like the other looks better.

The online/offline, report post etc, icons are sometimes located in a different place on the various skins and they will look different too -but once you look for them you can usually recognize them.

Font sizes

If the whole forum fonts are too small
you can make the browser fonts larger in the browser view settings or the options/preferences/tools area of your browser.

Default fomatting text in posts

Formatting text -

Another option that might help you is to Click on your User CP area {up above on the left}

Then click Edit Options and go down to the bottom of the page to the
Miscellaneous Options section.

There is a box that says -
Message Editor Interface
When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.

Try the Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG editing
and see if that works better for you.

and at the very bottom be sure to click the Save Changes button.

The steps I use to make message text larger -

1- I usually type my message first.

2- Then I select & highlight the words or sentences I want to make larger.

3- Then I click the Size button and select the size I want the text to be.

4- I go below to the Preview Message button and click that to see if it looks OK.

5- Then I click the Submit button.

Frown Change mood...

Don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. I'm using the default setting for the theme and cannot change my mood as the only choice I seem to have is 'no mood'. Can someone help me with this please?
Many thanks!
JeanHF

OK... I found out the answer. I usually work in Google Chrome (this will not work in Google Chrome). When I use Firefox it works just fine! I am a Chrome user as Firefox is usually too slow. Is someone working on the Google Chrome issue? Hope so.
All the very best!

Default Change mood

Just another hint about the "My mood" feature.

I couldn't get it to work in Safari, so I just changed over to Firefox and set a mood to test and it worked. Then I was able to restart my Safari and the mood stuck although it doesn't allow me to change it. I guess I'll just be Happy all the time now.
