Default How to - Save & Add Glitter Graphics to emails

I'm using Firefox as my browser & Thunderbird for my email program.
The basic steps should be similar for IE & outlook express but there could be some minor differences.

I'm using this one as my sample.
http://www.glitter-graphics.com/graphics/265304

Below the picture you will see download image
click that.
A window will pop up and tell you to "save as" {right click } for me is is "save image as"
click to save and save it to a folder or place you can find it easily.
In my pictures folder I have other folders for family pictures, scenery, graphics etc - just so things are easier to find.

now open up you email program and write /compose and email.
If you have 2 email accounts you can just send it to your self to test.
Now you have your write/compose window open and you should have something in the menu called Insert - click that and choose Image.
then use the button there to choose the file/picture that you saved

now in Thunderbird the pop up box has lots of options - change the size, add text, etc.

Then just click the OK button and it should get placed right into your email message.

Then send as normal.

Let me know if this works for you or I can load up Outlook ex and add any changes needed for it.

Just loaded OE and the steps are very similar so have fun.

Jo:

I did EXACTLY as you suggested. I went to my Verizon email account. I composed a new e-mail. There is NO PLACE WHERE IT SAYS INSERT. It only gives the option to do an attachment. So I figured, "what if I did it as an attachment, maybe it will insert itself into my hotmail account"

Oh, forgot to say I composed it in Verizon email and sent it to my Hotmail account.

Did not receive anything.

I am now going to do the reverse.

I'm going to my hotmail and see if I can insert it and send it to myself (anywhere??).

If this does not work, I'm doomed. Well, at least I can post pretty graphics on the Social Chat forum. lol

I'm doomed.

The only email thing that I have that allows me to INSERT anthing is Outlook Express. So I went there, composed a letter to myself (in hotmail and verizon), and I clicked on insert, I clicked on browse, I went to the my picture folder, I selected the graphic that I saved there (at least I believe I did that),

Actually, I do know what I am doing, I've saved tons of stuff over the years so I DO know how to use save and save as.

Well, guess what happened.

When I clicked on insert, etc. etc. and I tried to insert the picture, nothing showed up.

So I hit the SEND button, (just to see if maybe it might come out at the other end).

All that came out at the other end was a small blank rectangle.

I'm doomed, doomed!!!! lol

I did a test send from OE to you.

For outlook express
you have to click in the message area before you can access the insert picture part up above

you may have it set to not show images - in your OE settings??

do you have other pictures that show on emails that you get?

Oh, you're gonna love this.

For some time now, I can't open up ANYTHING (pictures, attachments, etc.) in Outlook Express.

I have to go to my original Verizon mail to open up anything, or my hotmail address.

And I know all about going to the body of the message before I click on insert.

Believe me, I used to do this stuff all the time.

Then one day, dear old Alan sat at the computer.

from that day on, I can't attach, insert or do ANYTHING in outlook. I'm lucky I get mail and I can read it. lol

Now we have to find out why Jo can insert graphics into her emails, and the rest of us can't.

Very confusing.

I'm hesitant about downloading any software to my computers (specifically to put graphics into emails). I once did that, and there was malware, and spyware, and I went nuts.

So this would be perfect.

The graphics really are beautiful. I mean, just look at this one.

Oh well, we'll keep plugging along.

Koala,
what email program did you try it with outlook express or Thunderbird or another one?

I have my Thunderbird email at the default settings for the image insert part.

my mail sending settings were not right on my OE but finally was able to do a test image with it and it worked for me too.

Nope...didn't happen. I officially give up!

Kaola:

All you have to do is copy and paste the codes (the bottom ones), into any posting you do. To me, this is the easiest thing I have ever done.

It's the email inserting I just cannot master. I mean, you have to save the image to your hard drive, then do the email.

But inserting it in a post, well all you have to do is go to glitter graphics and choose the graphic, look down to the bottom of the page, where there's two lines of codes.

You choose the bottom line of code. You copy it into your clipboard, and then when you come here, you just click paste.

You can do this either by using your mouse to right click the options, copy and paste, or you go up to the top of your screen where it says Edit, and you select copy and paste from there). Try doing that. I once was in a translating website and the right clicking of the mouse wouldn't do anything.

I had to go up to the top of the screen, click on edit and then finally, I could copy and paste.

Give it a shot.
