I've had stuff spilled on mine twice.
rescued it twice

first time opened it up to see how it was made and since it wasn't working anyway --
took it to the sink and ran it under the faucet.
I used warm water & rinsed well

then turn it or stand on edge to let it drain as a much as possible - overnight etc.
the next day finish up with blow dryer but not too hot
make sure no more water comes out

then plug it in and see if it works

does not apply for laptops -plain keyboards only

goodness girl..be careful. hehehe

i'll find you the link. a company in dallas makes a totally submersable keyboard and mouse.

i've done what jo did. just washed it up and let it dry. used the blow dry on cool. i have an extra keyboard though. when best buy replaced my pc, they didn't want any of the "extras", so i have doubles.

Keyboards are pretty resilient. We had an office party once and someone spilled champagne all over a couple of the keyboards. We took them to the bathroom, rinsed them off and put them under the hand dryers. Good as new!

I've spilled all sorts of things on mine!

If you are clumsy like me, get one of those plastic covers that fits over the keyboard...sometimes it doesn't fit very well, but it does keep liquid stuff from getting into the keyboard.

They may be resilient, but they're also fairly cheap these days. I have at least two new ones waiting on the floor since I'm also a chronic spiller.

Cute clip, Melody! Are these the little dudes that are responsible for my occasional glitches? Are they members of the Bill Gates commando team? Can I call a regular exterminator?

Oldsteve:

There's another graphic that is so perfect, you'll laugh your head off. I'm trying to find it. When I do, believe me, it's priceless!!!!
