Default VISTA. The nightmare.

Anyone know if an attorney or lawfirm has filed a class action?

I received my 'puter as a holiday gift and asked Q's about software, and I find: I am replacing program after program (that piecemeal effect). It's not inexpensive to do so.

How can a company hold a monopoly on an O/S and yet, millions have invested countless billions in software with EULAs that are rendered moot with VISTA??? (EULA? End User License Agreement.)

Something is so seriously wrong.

I've already re-purchased 5 programs. Why? Because the compatibility mode just does not work within VISTA.

Does MS think people are so lame we don't know we've been had?

If anyone knows of an atty. who has filed class action, please, PM me. If not, I'll locate an atty. This is so costly.

I have a beautiful desktop system, but... it is upstairs. Prob. is: I can't get to it without taking hours to crawl upstairs. I am disabled. I am so furious about losing software and spending tons of money on replacements.

I'll write every letter and address all the people needed; I've testified in the past, so I can sit before standing committees and do it again if it means change may result and others will not have to endure as I have.

Why should we, as individuals, pay for End-Use agreements, only to see it all negated because MS switched over to VISTA. Why don't the programs purchased work? NTFS iS NTFS so the (older) programs should work that had worked on NTFS; VISTA NTFS is a roll backward not a step forward.

Can y'all tell... I am not happy. I am sick of 'puter makers claiming proprietary rights and costing people.

I am thinking, a program that once worked on NTFS should work again, since that is the VISTA O/S. I am thinking, the reverse compatability mode should also work... or why is it there???

To top off my boo-hoo state of mind: I have no heat. Despite what some may wish to think: It's not always sunny in California. It's quite cold where I live (high 20s to 30s some nights). And, the last time my heater went out: I ended up labeled "disabled." It only tweaks me more to have the system go out again, while I'm paying for replacement software, thanks to VISTA being the only O/S offered on new computers.

This has gotta be the worse nightmare.

What can happen next? I already attained a wheelchair to show for the effects of no heat a few seasons ago. I get to crawl around thanks to not having Bruno lifts, etc..

But... I shall remind myself the upside is? I don't have to make like a kitty and wipe my ***** on the grass?
