well I just switched mine to enhanced so i'll try a few things.
just switched
sizes
and then colors
i think the enhanced will show you exactly what it will look like when you post - no brackets to deal with ect.
and the basic is probably just a plain text no options.

i think I'll leave mine on enhanced for now- just click the font or size or color and type . much easier than select/highlight/click changes ect

IF you use IE as your browser, go with Enhanced. IF you use FF or Opera or Safari, use the Standard.

There are bells and whistles that do NOT work with any browser but IE if you use Enhanced...like copying/pasting something. Liz

I'm using firefox mostly and sometimes netscape.
I still am using enhanced editor so I'll try some urls.

http://kubuntuforums.net/

Oh - I see the mouse right click doesn't work to do it that way {cut/copy/paste} links.

but you can use the little globe thing with the link {right below the smiley up above} mouse over it and it will say "insert link" so you click there and then the cut/copy/paste will work {kinda silly huh?}

http://kubuntuforums.net/
--or just use the browser edit section to paste as I did for the one above

at least thats how it works on my set up.

But with standard, I highlighted what I wanted to quote, and then in a new reply, did a paste quote (and the quote thingys are around it automatically. FF has an extension called paste quote that only works in forum settings. I can't live without it.

As far as the url thing, if you type the word here you can still insert a link (that one goes to the NeruoTalk FAQ btw). I put bold tags around it so it would stand out.

Now how did I do that? well, it actually looks like this without the spaces: [ URL="http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_vb_special_codes" ]here[/URL] To do what I did, type the title of the page of the url you want to insert, then highlight it and click the link thing that is the world with the link on it, That brings up a box to type the url in. And you will end up with what I do.

Now, a word to the wise, CHECK your urls to be sure of two things, 1) that they have http:// in front of the www. and 2) that there aren't TWO http:// there. With two you get an automatic redirection to Microsoft regardless of where you intended to go. Liz
