Thumbs up New Firefox 3.0

Wow... this is really nice.

We run 3 cleaning programs on the weekends. and
they are NOT finding the usual junk to remove.
(Adaware, Spybot, Avast scan)

This must have a "new" feature to block that junk?
I'll have to research this I guess. We just did the update as
usual, and bingo...nada.

Also it loads much much faster. Has some nice little features too. I saved my bookmarks, because last time some people ran into snags...but nothing happened to them, either.

So if you have Firefox... you'll like the new version.

Your thread icon has a thumbs down??
So I thought the new version was going to be bad - but you like it right?

I can change the icon if you meant to have a thumbs up...

i downloaded it and am using it too -
but I did find this article-
[Since Mozilla is still working on a fix, the researchers won't share details about the problem. Tipping Point ranked the severity of the vulnerability as high, but said that users would have to click on a link in an e-mail or visit a malicious Web page before being affected. The issue affects users of Firefox 3.0 as well as Firefox 2.0.]

http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/138784?rdf
http://www.linuxworld.com/news/2008/...rss-linux-news

I'm sure they get a fix set up quickly- or maybe it isn't the problem as it's portrayed to be in the articles.

Hmmmm, this is pretty nice. I hope no bugs start to bite. First time I downloaded Firefox I raved about it. The first one was fast. This one is great.

Thanks.

Wink did I put the wrong

icon up? Duh...?

I have noticed too, that my resource icon/widget is showing
lower numbers since we upgraded. Even when the browser is not engaged. This is puzzling...I think.

So far I like it... I guess they will be fixing the "hole" soon.
I don't go to questionable links..or download or game. We are soooo stodgy!

I like the upgrade too...it seems very efficient!

Yes you download it - close all other pgms and install it-

during the install it will ask a few questions - like -
- do you want it to be the default browser? { you can always change it later if you want to in the settings/options}
do you want to import favs/bookmarks etc ?

It will import your stuff - to be sure I usually save a copy/ back up in my documents or somewhere - i have even emailed them to my self a few times

hmm i should do that again it's been awhile..

I use FF most of the time but once in awhile I need to use IE for some sites - so IE still there It just depends on which one you open up.
If you set one or the other as the default then when you click a link or need to open one from a email or something then the default is the one opened.
