This trick was discovered when one of the client's I type for brought a file home, did some editing in Office 2007, and couldn't open it back up when she got to work. She asked if I could do it and after doing some research, I downloaded the converter from Microsoft and was able to open the file up and saved it as a .doc file. We have not had the problem since. I gave her the link to download the converter and it has been working out well for them.

I always do things the hard way for some reason...LOLOL

Thanks Jo and krik...I love learning new things! :D

There's a generic (and free) office suite available at www.openoffice.org I haven't tried it but my son uses it and doesn't spend money on Microsoft software. ;) They also say it's easy to use.

I recently heard that Microsoft stopped issuing the Vista OS on it's computers. I haven't looked further into that, but I can believe it. I downgraded back to XP when I purchased my laptop because I found Vista to be a hassle, and very slow.

Switch back to Window's XP - It's the best solution for anything.
