it just means that MS wants to make it hard for you so you'll buy their WORD or Office products...

There's a generic (and free) office suite available at www.openoffice.org I haven't tried it but my son uses it and doesn't spend money on Microsoft software. They also say it's easy to use.

I recently heard that Microsoft stopped issuing the Vista OS on it's computers. I haven't looked further into that, but I can believe it. I downgraded back to XP when I purchased my laptop because I found Vista to be a hassle, and very slow.

Switch back to Window's XP - It's the best solution for anything.
