Default OT: Geek Tawk

well, to all the geeky techno enthusiasts...

I have questions, tons and tons of questions...and would love inputs, no matter how absurd you think it is...would just love to hear them...

of course, this is off topic anyways...so join anytime...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
alrighty, here is what I've been thinking a lot of...
I O or binary code
in the puter world, IO (or 1 and 0) is used to represent everything. (of course, you all know this already but just wanted to lay it out a bit to where I am going with all this. )
I for ON
O for OFF
and of course, they are logged into base 8's...Then gateways and blah blah blah...
this is what is interesting...we are using base 8's to calculate base 10's. Of course, behind it all, really base 2's to signal base 8's to calculate base 10's.
And that is what is interesting as I am reading through all these philosophy books...
all things end in sync...
chaos and order
Yin and Yang
Positive force and negative force
all these could be represented by 1 and Zero or IO
Einstein's thought of STR (Special Theory of Relativity) supports the IO partially...
the relativists (Einsteinians) believe that there is no "NOW"
which is supported by quantum physics and quarks. That there is no absolute and absolute state of rest. Meaning that now you see it and now you don't happens at the same time
If one was to put that into theory using simple math, it's true.
for example. how many numbers can we fit between the numbers 1 and 2.
INFINITE...that means that if we apply that to time, there is never a NOW....
another example of that is, as soon as I think of something, it's already in the past, but before I thought of it, it is in the future, where exactly IS the NOW??
but for true believers of "Now" (Newtonians mostly) believe that there IS a NOW.
using simple math again:
1.5 (an absolute between 1 and 2)
but now, there is a problem with that. If there IS a "NOW" , then there would never be a past or future cause "NOW" is defined...
for example, I am thinking of the word, "NOW" and it is thought of, and it is right at 1.5. Now there is a problem, where would "NOW" go? How does it flow(time wise)?
"NOW" would now be in the past and be in the future cause it is here, now...LOL
Am I confusing you? Yeah, I am confused myself...
and please feel free to correct me if I have posted incorrect information or outdated information..
for me, I like the balance of yin and yang, some call it Tai-Chi (Chi in this case does not mean force or gas,but polarizations)
I like that there are opposites but it goes around in circles. And that there are now in the past and future in the present yet it just continues to go around in circles where everything is in continuity. Past and now and present all spinning...
I think the Newtonians and Einsteinians should stop arguing and actually combine the two sciences and I think they'll progress more...
of course, now we are getting close to finding out about the 10th dimension and we don't even understand the 4th dimension yet...sheesh...
well, anyways...any input would be great, even if you think I am nuts...LOLOL
Right on bro!!!
I think now is whenever we want now to be lol.
It even gets weirder when you start looking at string theory
Can you imagine a dozen you's and maybe more all running concurrently in different timelines? So will ther real me please stand up!
I had to take a lot of math classes though it was tough for me. I love the way it works, but I can't use it the way you all do. I wish I liked it so much that it would be sort of like poetry for me to think about it. I do get logic, and I like lots of the accounting stuff, but calculus!
oy Allen, moi likes the way you think! "Now is whenever we want now to pee"
kewl!! LOL
yeah, the string theory is really cool on paper. Someone has explained it to me like this:
you know how we used to draw those animated stick people at the bottom of our text books cause we always fell asleep in Physics? And then we start to flip them and they come alive.
Each one of those pages is a now. But each one of those pages still remains.
So each one of those figures are now individuals although they were drawn to represent one...
me thinks you and I need to go visit Superman and find our bizzaros...LOLOL
~~~~~~~~~

oh, come on, Jo!! Anything...

and Wiz, come on...give us an accounting view of now...LOL

as in, if we don't pay our taxes "NOW" what would happen??

and where is Bobbi with her "whuzit" answers? LOLOL

Old Stevie?snoozie? Mel? Pamster? Curious? Bearygoody? Even nappy? Although me thinks Nappy will just want to tawk about MAC's now....then we'll have to sMACk her...

Well if my memory serves me right...which it doesnt most of the time

They say there is only 10 dimensions maybe more. I think there is probably infinite strings, heck no one really knows how large the universe is or really how small we are in comparison. What is BIG to us might amount to something infintesimally small in the big picture of the way things are in the universe.

Some things like the meaning of now is all in the perception of the individual, or in the way the word is used in a sentence, but still up to the interpretation of the reader.

You know...we probably will never know how many dimensions there are until someone or something that lives in one of these unseen dimensions jumps out and shows it self, or grabs us

I think we get glimpses of these other dimensions when we see things move in our peripheral vision, or by watching Ghost Hunters LOL. But are we seeing these things move right then....our now, or was it a hundred, or even a thousands years ago that this moved and we are seeing it in our now??? Like when a star blows up that is a gazillion light years away and we see it right now, but really it happened before our planet even existed!!

ACK!!!!! My dilithium crystals are on melt down!

Awww dang jo. Maybe you should just switch it for another, maybe it was just a freak messed up thing with only that TV?

I wish I would have bought one of those new fangled tv's before my backpay ran out, but am glad I bought the projector. Been havin sooo much fun taking it out and showing movies at friends and families houses.

Last week we set it up oin a friends back yard and shot it across his pool! We all sat in his pool and watched the movie...it was great!!!

Hmmmmm......In the movie was Will Smith actually acting right then...our now, or was before that??? Hmmmmm ???

Keeping it on topic

OK, you lost me at: "I for ON, O for OFF" and then I picked back up at "And that is what is interesting as I am reading through all these philosophy books...

all things end in sync...
chaos and order
Yin and Yang
Positive force and negative force"

The rest was amusing as well as thought provoking. Thanks.

Allen - I read an article a while back in either my Scientific America or my Discovery magazine about string theory. Let's just say I was lost!!! lol My dad however was reading some book about it and was enjoying it. He did say it was rather complex and he had to really sit back and think it through.

Allen you are right the string theories are really deep, wasn't it through string theory they proposed that you could possibly say there are parallel universe's?
