Not a bad question, right?

And I've been following the whole thing. I told Alan the other night "At 3:15 am we'll either still be here or we won't. He just looked at me.

They are trying to find a particle they haven't been able to "see" before. It's called the Higgs particle.

I'm still wondering if Hawking is right, and they might find new ones but not this particular one they are searching for. Still kinda interesting to me.

hey mel,

I think even if they find how the "big bang" started it still doesn't explain the creation of the universe as a whole. Cause I think even if they find "Big Bang"

one would then ask, "WHO" created Big Bang?

the particles in my town are called "hicks" and believe me, they do a lot of Big Bangs in the middle of the night...sometimes, I think it IS the end of the world when they start to howl and sing and crank up "Sweet Home Alabama" (I used to like that song...)

~~~~
these particles are created in "bits and pieces" so the theory is as soon as it is created, it disappears (which correlated with quantum theory when regarding to quarks).
and if they are able to find out more about gravity, which like Allen suspected is probably more than Newton or Einstein's theories have applied to.
Then it can answer somewhat about time travel or really, what time is (or what time it is, I think it is 1:61pm)
Cause while a lot of experts have argued that time is the 4th dimension. There are a bit of believers and growing that believe "Time" is beyond that dimension and maybe more...maybe even in the 12th dimension...
this experiment might find the 10th dimension...and we haven't even found the 4th-9th yet...LOLOLOL
hey, good questions though...didn't really have the answers, just my thought on it.
There is a really cool program on History channel called the History of the Universe. If you ever get to catch it, give it a look see...it is about 4 hours long and it connects all the great physicists and minds together and uses each one of their theories or discoveries to prove each step of the universe as well as calling out their mistakes.
You know what I find fascinating is that everything we are talking about is a mathematical equation. They have this equation that they base all their theories on. But what is so fascinating is even though they may never in our life time solve the problem, they may be able to unlock parts of the equation.
So even though the entire puzzle isnt solved, they can use pieces of that puzzle. Things like harnessing gravity, zero point energy, harnessing the power of black holes and who knows what other secrets may be unlocked.
Wouldnt it be amazing to one day be able to see or enteract with another dimension, or fly around the earths airspace, or even travel to the stars! I think about these things all the time.
Makes me wonder about death. When we die do we die, or do we somehow move into another dimension with capabilities to move freely in all the other dimensions, even the one we are currently in?? I wonder that even if they learn about these things, could we even apply it in our world, or is it "all" locked up for the life after this life?
Maybe we are not intended to be able to break our boundaries in this reality, but must wait for this other reality, or dimension. Not saying we cant learn or understand these things, just wont be able to freely interact unless you have been changed into a different physical body that is able to do all and more than we can even dream in this limited dimension.
Warning! Warning! Danger Will Robinson!!! Brain over load! Brain over load!!
I, for one, DO NOT BELIEVE IN DEATH. I think if we believe it can happen, I CAN HAPPEN. So unless I get hit by a bus, or a streetcar, I go about my life (eating correctly, moving as much as I can, taking my supplements, and not eating anything artificial), well I go about my life as if I will be here ....well, as long as I can BE HERE!!!
And if I do expire, I'll just fly around and I shall SMITE MY ENEMIES.
lol
