Thank you so much for informing us about this danger. It does look frightfully real!

I had to do a total destructive Recovery because of it. I'd do a screenshot to show you but it's not there right now. I will comeback when it comes back so you can see what I'm talking about. You hear a little "Blip" when it first comes on. Just don't EVER click on it. If you want ActiveX go to the official download site and get it or if you ever try to download some JAVA site it will give you the proper and official link right there to download it.

The bogus one you do NOT want to click on is a pale yellow and goes across the top of whatever page you are on. It isn't a BOX type pop-up. I think they do this format to trick people into thinking it's ligitmate but it's NOT. It's just another Pop-Up. Here is what it says:

This site might require the following ActiveX control: 'Adobe Flash Player Installer' from Adobe Systems Incorporated'. Click here to install...

I also had several problems with my computer being really slow. Turned out there was some dangerous Trojan stalling it and reading my data I tried search-and-destroy which removed the Trojan. Now there are no more problems

If the image doesn't show up on your screen just click on the url under it. Like I said, imageshack has been kind of iffy lately:

Maybe it's the png extension. I don't know why they do that all of a sudden. :confused: I never had a problem posting screenshots before. :o

a bad scareware is Antivirus 2009 (microsoft). They take over and it is actually redirecting you to[removed site]and they want almost 50 bucks to fix the issue that they caused! Shuts down reliable access to your web browser , thus you can't get the patch. I had to revert and losses were painful. Lesson learned.

Be careful as it is not from the authentic MS Antivrus, but is merely masquerading as it.

Antivirus 2009 = fake - don't click anywhere on it!!

I just had it pop up on my screen.:eek:

The only way i could close it was by pressing CTRL/ALT/DELETE
{opens Windows task manager}
and closing my browser by highlighting it { I was using Firefox} then pressing the End Process button.

I opened Firefox and it asked if I wanted to restore session or start a new one - I selected new one - so the AV 2009 would not pop back up again.:eek:

info- Antivirus 2009 removal - if you accidentally click on it and it installs...
