[ Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer * Last Modified: September 26, 2008 * Article: HT1848 * Old Article: 305465 Summary If you purchased items from the iTunes Store and the only place you have them stored is on your iPod or iPhone, you can transfer them to any computer that is authorized for your iTunes Store account using iTunes 7 or later. This feature adds an extra layer of protection against losing your valued purchases.] http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848?viewlocale=en_US

My brother used this program to retrieve the music off of his iPod.
http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ iTunes is a one way street and will only put music onto the iPod

j055 link is very helpful. make sure though when you instllt he itunes to not let it try to syn right off the bat or it can potentially erase the music from the ipod itself.
itunes by default was built to not let us do manual backups or add music that wasnt purcahsed throught itunes store. i susualy back up all music to anothe folder or a cdrom once in a while in case i have to do a restore or goto another computer. follow the directions in the tutorial and all should work foine. roger. |
