Default I'm learning Photo Shop

The below picture was saved in GIF extension which only has an 8 bit color which equates to at the most 256 colors. I used dithering on the photo to make the colors appear more.

this is a pic saved in JPEG which is compressed when saved. Can you tell the difference in the same picture just by saving by a different extension?

Wow! Good for you. I'm glad you're learning Photo Shop. Maybe I should as well! I've not been around much lately. Computer issues again and I've had some yukky tummy bug. Hope you're feeling better there too!

I can see the difference.

Very clever. Very pretty. Thanks

Thank you Lara. I hope you feel better soon. I've had the flu the week before last and just getting over the cough and congestion this week.

That's a lovely picture Barbara.

I must say that I'm a teeny bit envious as I'd love to learn Photoshop, but unfortunately it's way to expensive for me.

I did see a free trial online, but it would take me far too long to get the hang of it to actually get any good things out of the trial.

I'm doing OK with Photbucket, and another friend put me onto PhotoScape, which is similar.... but I really would love to be able to more than those two programs allow.

Another goal in life for me is to learn to do my own animations.

One day perhaps.......

I saw Photo Shop Elements 6 on sale a week or two ago at Amazon for $60 which is a great bargain. It usually sells for $100 or more. I wish you could get it.

I'll check it out later in the year, even though it'll cost more then, but I do want to get a bit more proficient with the other programs I have first. I might even hint to DD when it's closer to my birthday

I look forward to seeing some more of your work Befuddled.

Good for you! I love Photoshop. I can definately see the difference in the two pics. Good job in making the colors come out more intense! I used to teach Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark express at Westwood college. If you ever have any questions ask away.

on the weekend, i downloaded 3 free photo editing softwares... to play with a little bit... until i can afford photoshop...

Gimp ; FotoSketcher ; PhotoFiltre

it appears that Microsoft Office Picture Manager was already in my windows xp... i have yet to explore all of what it can do...

i also downloaded AndreaMosaic... i love mosaics of all kinds

i'm hoping all that will help me put some color in this cold, white & grey winter

I'm learning Photo Shop-red_yellow_flower_256-jpg

if you look really hard on the net you can find any program. but thats another story and website. hehhe

but sometimes you can goto the local campus and get a educational version of programs for learning such as photoshop and such. they have unlimeted licenses for them.

the best place to find them is flea markets and grage sales. to get used copies of photoshop. the beginner doesnt need the latest anf greatest you can stil lern a great deal from a early version and save a lot of bucks.

roger.

kaolla to make an animated gif file goover to here and check out the graphical programs you can download here. i reccomend cnet.com for sharewares and freewares for beginners.

http://www.download.com/windows/?tag=hdr;snav

once there on the left nav choose graphics design software...then animation software... and the world is yours after that.
