I want to watch a DVD on my computer but don"t know what I need to do so.
I don't want to hook it up to the T.V. so what do I do? Does anyone know about this? Thank you. Doodle bug7 |

It depends if your cdrom drive lets you view a dvd. You can tell by looking at the cdrom drawer if you see the dvd symbl then put in cd and your computer eill try to view it in its media player.

did you get it figured out doodlebug?
If it doesn't see it or do the autorun you can go to My Computer and locate the CD{DVD??} drive and right click for options - explore or open, etc

I do have the DVD slot. I can put the movie in and see a visual of the movie, but I
can't get it to do anything. I tried 3 different movies and couldn't get them to start playing. thanks, Dbug7 |

I just got one of our movie DVDs and it won't play either ..
so i did find this from microsoft - [3. If prompted, click Play DVD Video using Windows Media Player and select the Always do the selected action check box. Then click OK. Note: If the Play DVD Video option does not appear, your computer does not have the required software installed. Check your computer manufacturer's Web site for software you can download. now that im a bit more coherant. depending on your computers configuration and age as well as the dvd drive, some dvds come witht hier own software to run them.
this media player will play everything. choose it aas your default when you insert a dvd.http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ have fun. |

hello all,
You would need to see that you have a player to view the DVD, dvd player or cd/dvd player. Then you may run into issues with some dvd's depending on the operating system you are using. Like some may play in Windows Media Player and some may not. If that happens you can download for free a video player called VLC and it works for most dvds, better audio too. |
