Default Anyone get this awwservice.exe??

I keep getting a big grey box on my screen which says something about awwservice.exe and then shows my computer config??

It says it is from Lavasoft and asks me to report a crash to Lavasoft. I wonder is this real or what the heck is it??

I probably should get the tech over here to fix this. I keep my anti-spy and anti-virus protections up to date but this keeps getting through.

AZjanie,

you have a very very dangerous backdoor trojan. I would highly recommend that you not do anything personal like banking and such and not get on line until you get rid of it...

not sure what kind of anti-virus/spyware you've got. A hijackthis file would help if you can post one so one can get a whole picture...

if you're up to it: http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en...kthis/download

try the first option and do a "scan and log file" and copy the log file (it'll be in a notepad format) and paste it here.

if you can't do the first option, try to download the third option. If your puter is hijacked to the point that it won't let you. Try to download the third option on someone else's puter and save it to a USB stick and then plug it to your infected puter and install it that way...

anyways, if you have someone in your area that can do this, I would recommend that you have it looked at immediately.

DS got a very official box, clicked it and got a Trojan. He did something then came to my computer to warn me, scan me and talk protection. Yesterday we bought Trend protection and as our servor has ceased our protection, need th download before my luck runs out.

Are you using a lavasoft product on your system?

are you using a suite or separate programs for pc protection?

I use an Internet Security Suite type of protection now {pretty much covers everything or you can turn off the parts you don't want} and also some stand alone programs that are off until I run the scans manually.

I tried quite a few different set ups and programs the last 3 yrs and this seems to be working well for me.

LavaSoft is a great product. You need to re-install the software.

I found lava soft to be a good product, but

Superantispyware.com is MUCH better. A friend was hit with one of those back door virus things, and lavasoft walked right by it. Superantispyware ripped it right out.

You need to get that thing fixed. Its scary to think how quickly someone can come in and grab all of your information.
