Question moving text.

I am trying unsuccessfully to put some selected text into a folder on my desktop. I've got the folder waiting for the text but I can't seem to
get it there. I know how to highlight the subject and select copy but from there it falls apart. Can someone help me with this?
Thank you guys,
Dbug7
