Default Help with laptop.

I have an HP pavilion ze4900. Anyways, a couple of years ago my daughter dropped it on the spine, which of course is where the plug for power connects. She broke it where the little male is sodered (sp?) on. I had it repaired for $200. It was a crappy job and only lasted for a couple of months. I have a battery, but it has died since there is no way to charge it. So here leads to my question. Does anybody out there know if they make seperate chargers for laptop batteries? I would rather spend my money on that and just run my laptop off of batteries. Or if anyone knows of a way that I can bypass the power cord and run power into the battery compartment??? Like a "battery" with a way to plug it in?? Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks
