Default Printers: Inkjet vs. Laser

Can anyone tell me the comparison between the two... as far as print quality and cost of cartridges?... or cost per printed page?
Thanks.

The cost of laser printers has really dropped and they are cheap to buy now.
With a colour printer, there is a lot of ink waste cleaning the head, and if any colour runs out you may not be able to print just black. Depends on the printer.
If you are doing just black, then I'd think a laser would be the go. There should be an output and ink usage guide available.
All printers are just a way of selling expensive inks. You will often be able to buy a new printer for similar cost of genuine inks!
I buy the cheaper substitute ones for half the price.
Be aware also that laser printers emit harmful vapours, or at least they did when I was working. They had to be placed away from people.
