My mother recently got diagnosed with ALS...
Hearing "no cure" is a terrible thing. I live very far from my parents, which makes it so much harder for everyone. I don't want to behave like she's dying as the inevitable may not be very soon. I also want her to keep her spirit high. But sometimes I get into a phase where I just can't stop crying. I shouldn't feel embarrassed about it, should I? I guess society really sets some rules about grown up men and crying. *sigh*. Anyway... I'm not sure how others cope with it but it isn't easy. |
