but many people who like you and I ... who are going through grief the is no correct way or time to grieve...

Grief comes in many forms. It's a mixed bag.
I've been grieving these past couple of days over a loss from long long ago. Grief had a funny way of showing back up on my doorstep, even though I thought I had healed... {{{{HUGZ}}}}

My daughter's BF of a year recently broke up with her, and when she became severely depressed, I likened what she was dealing with to the recent (and sudden ) death of my close friend, Gina. In a real sense, it is a death. She has lost the person she thought he was. I think looking at it that way (and realizing that I could also understand that she could think of it that way) has helped her to begin to heal. She's no longer sad all the time, and we talk a lot more than we used to, so some good has definitely come out of it.

I was going through one of my old notebooks yesterday, copying down info into a proper and new one, when I ran across the name and number of a dear friend and mentor who passed away two years ago. I sat there and cried.
nah. nuttin' weird about how you are feeling. As we get older we will be dealing with loss a helluva lot more often than we used to. Some of us will get over it fast and the rest of us will always mourn - perhaps with less intensity as time goes on.

My Mother's Hospice Soc Wkr told me that there are the 3 T's of grief.
Time ~ Talk ~ Tears I've Talked about losing Mother, cried a whole lot of Tears and am now waiting for TIME to do it's part. Everyone deals w/grief so differently. I don't handle it well at all.
