Admissions
The wind has blown away All that I would have kept My spirit raw and frayed My fire burned and bled Distant melodies replay Unexpectedly make room Break open Pandora’s place Endorphin-ate-ing the tune Courage tough for years and years Dissolves within a single stray thought My battleground a flood of tears My armour imitates mirage Were I a grain winnowed of chaff Or what is hidden in an egg The melody woven inside jazz or a steeplechaser’s legs Water, had turned me to mildew My egg’s treasure - stillborn All player’s instruments out of tune My piston legs tendons torn To illustrate 25 years of fight Parkinson’s disease my foe I’ll, once more paste on a smile And pretend my tears don’t show. |
