Lightbulb Loved this story.....

Every six months or so, I revamp my apartment. I don’t move furniture, or redecorate; I just move my art around. I’ll re-hang photographs in different arrangements, relegate prominently placed ceramics to crowded bookshelves, or take a painting off a wall and put it onto a dresser so it can be seen as sculpture.

Not so Isabella Stewart Gardner. The 19th century art collector and patron, who designed her Boston home as a museum, stipulated in her will that no piece of art should ever be moved........

Oh, I could sit in that garden all day! How beautiful!

The tapestry is lovely, too. I love the colors. Not too big of a gothic fan but it's all beautifully shown.

Thumbs up

Fascinating! Thanks for this!

You know, Victory Garden is on the retirement living channel, and I saw an episode about this:

http://www.butchartgardens.com/index...tpage&Itemid=1

They had pictures of the old abandoned quarry, that these gardens were made from. It is more outdoorsy but the scale of the whole thing is amazing.

This is rather breathtaking, and I'd love to visit this place someday!

Wow, I just spent the past 25 minutes reading everything about ISG -- what a great lady!

And that Butchart Garden is extraordinary!

Sign me up to see both places!!!
