Default Norman Rockwell .. "draw me" ad

My brother in law was a Texas A&M football player and then one day he took a Norman Rockwell "draw me" test .. taken out of a Magazine Ad. He was hooked and they said he had talent. Living in Scottsdale, AZ he was already at home within an artist haven. He taught for 35 years and passed away this summer.

I dove 150 miles to look at and purchase a baler off a Craigslist ad. Before I left I went into the couples guest bathroom .. there on the wall above the John was a painting by my brother in law .. I thought. I know his style well .. but the signature was by someone else.

Richard touched so many lives .. this painting was from one of his students. His legacy lives on. He use to tell students .. "You have learned all that I can teach you and I don't want you in class any more. Go find other teachers with other techniques and learn from them .. then develop your own style somewhere in between what you have learned from us. You are ready."
