The Australian King Parrot is such a majestic bird and you've captured it very nicely. We had a pair that visited regularly when we lived in a warmer climate but it's too cold for them here. We get a whole different variety of other very pretty birds in our feeders now, including Rainbow Lorakeets and some beautiful Eastern Rosellas, but I sure do miss the AKP. |
Indeed. We have King Parrots here on the sunny coast. Not in the backyard of course, but there are nature reserves around the coastline here where they seem to hang around and breed in treetrunks or whatever. I love living here for that reason. Lots of environmentally friendly areas mixed in with suburbia in my area. Lots of Cockatoo too! screeeeeech.
