The Big Bad Monster
Attacks me through out my day
At work, at church and even at play
When I’m sleeping
It creeps and sits on my chest
Pinning me down with dreams of hopelessness
Attacks my mind, holds me against my will
In a trance, unable to fight, unable to scream and unable to sit still.

This faceless creature
Attacks when I’m at my worse
Even when I’m at my best
Slaying me slowly As if I were the dragon
Stabbing me repeatedly
Spilling all of me….
My strength, my peace
My hope, my joy
My happiness, my energy
My time, my mind
I lay helpless on the floor.
