"FREE AT LAST"
Bonded down with chains of fire. Nothing ahead being fed by a liar. Knowing inside that there must be a way. To escape this life, and see the light of day. Dear God,please save me,take me away. Help me Lord, only if you may. The power of God was all it took. His power against that liar and crook. No power surpasses God,I say. None at all,he broke me away. He showed me a life within my reach. He promised me freedom,if him I believed. He was the one who took all my pain. He saved me,and loved me,and took all my shame. Then showed me a life, with everything to gain. I'll never forget what God did for me. For because of him. I am finally set free........ This poem is being published in the International Who's Who in Poetry! I won't go on about all my awards for my writing,I just want to share it with you all.I am a published writer in poetry, that poem is just one of my favorites, and I just wanted to share! Thanks for being here for me to share with!

Hey, ((((((Justice))))))
WOW!! You've actually made me speechless (and that's pretty hard to do)!! Magnificent writing!! I *LOVE* words. It's so incredible what a bunch of squiggly lines on paper (or on computer screen) can communicate. You, my friend, have a real talent. If the words are biographical and true, I'm beyond glad that you're free . I'm know how much hard work that takes. Here's another award . Hugs. Barb |

Thanks for the compliment.I have 2 main coping skills, and the 1st one is singing, and the 2nd is writing. I've been writing poetry since I was in Junior High school,lol...I'm at the age now that I can't even remember what age you are in Junior High..lol..sad huh..lol...I guess that must be like your first sign of aging! lol..I have a whole book with like about 150 poems in it that I wrote, but so far I've only gotten about 22 (I think)copyrighted, and either 3 or 4 are being published.I did get the editors choice award for August of 2006 thats on my wall. And Poet of the Year 2006 Amateur Division, but I didn't expect all that when I write, and when I started,I just write how I feel, and I feel that I can express myself better in words through my poetry. One day I entered a contest online, and all the sudden,I started winning awards, getting letters in the mail, asking my permission to publish my work! It was just a shock to me,but it felt good to! But I still do my singing,I actually went to the recording studio, with pneumonia, just so I could have some surprize gifts,on CD for my friends! All I can say is that the first song I sang came out really well, but the other two were disasters, because of the pneumonia,my breathing started getting pretty bad! It was pretty funny!

This Poem I wrote 7 years ago when I quit using drugs and Alcohol,to help me stay motivated. It is now circulating through the AA community in the area where I live and helping others the same. Also it is circulating through the local Jail. I had sent my brother a copy to help him in Jail, and his inmates really liked it,so I sent him a bunch of copies, and he spread them around.
"The Road To Recovery" The steps I must take to get well won't be easy. The road is bumpy, and the air is breezy. But I must endure this storm till the end. No lies,no games, tell the truth, don't pretend. Open my mind to others advice. You never know, not everyone is as cold as ice. Open myself for God to come in. For his help is needed to make it to the end. My mind is certain that this road will be tough. However, the benefits of recovery tells me enough. I can make it,many others have done. But to do it for myself, I'm the only one. I've been clean and sober since I wrote this poem,7 years! I hope that it helps even just one person, even more would be great!
