Default Final Poem

Poem to neighbor with cancer:

People said to be careful
But I just resented that ear full
I wanted so much for us to have something
But as time passed I knew it could be nothing
You seem so harsh to others you see
That kind of attitude displeases me
I want so badly to be needed
For my wants I have pleaded
My tears flow freely
I'm tired of being lonely
My Lord, what have I done?
No one loses and one one has won.

Default Re: Story of Neighbor

Hi all,

All the poetry I had been writing has been inspired from knowing my neighbor with cancer. Well, since I gave him a poem letting him know I liked him he's been avoiding me. However, the night i wrote the Final Poem, was the same night I gave my neighbor another poem letting him know I liked him. Absense made the heart grow fonder and I started liking him again. However I only rang his doorbell once and that was the Sunday after the Wednesday I gave him the poem. Today while I was out I got a Dear John letter from him. So you see my friends, the above poem really is the last poem. At least for awhile. I'm not going to put myself out there again, I know that.

Hi Barb, hang in there and don't give up on finding that special someone. Sometimes it seems that if you quit looking they are dropped right into your life. That is what happened to me some 18 years ago. His battery went dead and I charged him up...the rest is history. I thought I would never meet that special someone and I had given up.

You are such a nice sweet person who likes to please others and somebody will see that in you. I wish we lived closer as I would love to have you for a friend and not just a cyber friend. Think of all the trouble we could get into. PM me if you ever want to talk...Sue
