WOW! You are amazing with that sewing machine! I recently had to make hats for a Mad Hatter birthday party and I used poster board and felt. Let's just say while it looked ok on the outside it looked terrible inside. I LOVE how yours look so clean and professional inside and out.

And the quilts are seriously impressive. I tell myself that "one day" I will learn how to quilt. But since I draw and paint and only "sort of" sew, I have to wait til I get sick of drawing and painting to take the quilting class. I tend to go nuts buying supplies so I need to use up what I have before I start buying fabric like a crazy woman.

Thanks Raigne! Quilting takes precision in the cutting for the sewing to go well. I did well on mine but I am going to attempt the Fun & Done quilting as you go style next, so it will have all finished edges, and no ragging effect. There's a AWESOME free Mini class on Craftsy you can take on quilting basics, I really enjoyed it! It's awesome to see this teacher, Gail Kessler teaches it: http://www.craftsy.com/class/piece-p...ing-skills/369 It's a great class! SO happy you liked my sewing projects! I wish I could draw or paint, those are big time skills to possess!

That, and geometry/math skills. Fortunately (Raigne—sorry, I don't know how much you do/don't know about quilting) there are many techniques (such as 'fun & done', 'stack-n-whack', paper-piecing, & many more) to explore and find your aptitude.

Some things carry over from drawing & painting, e.g. landscape quilting...

Ok, my quilting skills are NIL. Once I was told there was math involved my brain shut off. I just smile and nod when I'm told how easy it is. LOLOL I can see the details are what matters most to make a beautiful quilt and my brain no longer operates in the details.

I may want to try the "wing it" type methods. LOL That's me in so many ways. I'm self-taught in everything: painting, sewing, drawing, etc. I think for quilting I will have to take that class you shared the link to, Pam. Thank you so much for that!

I appreciate both of you taking the time to respond.

I got a LOT out of the class Raigne, I hope it helps you too! It was well worth watching. I am gearing up to start a new quilt, just bought fabric today as a matter of fact. So we'll see how it goes. I am doing the Quilt as you Go/Fun & Done style of quilting for it though. Praying I can make it work....
