Heart Your Soul Lives On

Your Soul Lives On

Your body is dying,
But your mind keeps up the fight,
The cancer takes hold,
It doesn't seem fair or even right.

Your heart is aching,
For the time you will have lost,
Your dreams are fading,
You know too well the final cost.

Your pride is hurting,
As your dignity's slowly dying,
Composure is fading,
As more often I find you crying.

Your spirit is fighting,
As your mind struggles to keep in touch,
The pain takes over,
And sometimes it all becomes too much.

Your mind is fading,
You know you are losing control,
Your life is over,
But what lives on now, is your soul...
