[Burntmarshmallow]

A SECOND

Just for a second there they were
floating in. Across from me there they sat
and that was that.
Just for a second
Butterflies of self-conscious fear
rushed me BUT
I didn’t feel so quiet anymore
Just for a second I tried to smile
And then they spoke. A tiny ray
Of sunshine struck my nervousness.
Just for a second I looked them over
Till all those faces looked
back at me.
Just for a second everything faded.
My breath was lost , heart went racing .
Then everything cleared my lungs found air
Just for a second I prayed what I
had written would make sense,
a brilliant statement or picture they would enjoy.
Just for a second I knew for sure
Without doubts
That Just for a second
Is all there is.
