Congrats to all of you who have followed through and finished a piece of work.
I have a first draft of a novel sitting in my desk drawer...it is awful.
I've tried to writ a second draft, but the timeline's all goofed up, and the story is really boring...it was good practice, though. I also have a folder full of poetry.
My DD is always after me to write...but I just don't have anything to say right now:Speechless: Too busy trying to get myself healthier and running my in-laws to doctors, grocery shopping, etc.

Debbie,

Totally understand. Last year I was really sick and had surgery in October.

Now that I've recovered from that surgery and I'm feeling so much better I finally feel like I have my life back.

At my last post op visit with the surgeon I told him that being so sick I felt like someone had taken the writing pen of my life out of my hand and was writing a story I didn't like. But now having the surgery I feel like I can take that writing pen back and begin to write my own story again.

I hope you will be able to take that writing pen back and write your own story soon.

I've had a fable published in msliving. That's the extent of it for me, at the moment. I always used to do a little writing here and there, but it seems that this past year is when I've really started to come into my own. I seem to be pretty decent with research papers and consulting styled work. I've often wondered what it takes to do freelance writing? I do have some non-fiction ideas running through my head. I have yet to sit and write anything ficticious. I'm considering working on some short-stories. I know there are many competitions that I could enter with one of those. :D
I'm thankful to be amoungst all of you writers :D

Right on, BTB! Are you using Final Draft? I like it a lot, it eliminates a lot of the dirty work. Good luck with that!

A childhood friend of mine wrote the screenplay for the Incredible Hulk movie a few years ago, when he sold it, I'd thought he'd blow a gasket. When they actually produced it, we had to peel him off the ceiling!

You might try Helium or Associated Content. You write short articles about all kinds of stuff. They always need medical from what I'm seeing.

Not a lot of money, but a few bucks here and there.

Do check out Accentuate Writers though. They have all kinds of paying jobs posted. And not scams, good stuff. Contests and all that too. One member is the publisher of Modern Fiction mag. A lot of us AW members have sent him our stories, and he is helping us all out with advice. Very cool.

Most of the members are published - unlike any other site, where most are unpublished.
